Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has launched the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), a political mobilisation platform established to rally support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The organisation has also announced plans for a two-million-man mobilisation march across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones and a transport initiative involving 10 luxury buses.
Abubakar made the announcements on Friday, October 30, 2026, during a press conference at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja.
He described HBTO as a structured, nationally coordinated movement designed to mobilise support for Tinubu and the ruling party while taking the administration’s policies beyond political gatherings and into communities.
On the proposed bus initiative, Abubakar said the organisation would begin with the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) before extending the programme to other states, with the aim of easing transportation difficulties for Nigerians.
However, a statement by Yusi Buba, Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation to the APC Deputy National Chairman, described the 10 buses as a donation to support the party’s mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
Buba said Abubakar made the pledge during a visit to the party’s national secretariat, where he was received by the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Bukar Dalori, who welcomed the gesture.
Abubakar also unveiled plans for a two-million-man mobilisation march across the six geopolitical zones, beginning in Abuja.
He said the organisation’s immediate mobilisation efforts would focus on supporting the FCT Minister’s political objective of securing the FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu in the 2027 general election.
He further disclosed that a major mobilisation exercise was being planned for Rivers State in the first week of November, adding that the organisation had begun activating its structures and supporters nationwide.
Explaining his decision to support Tinubu, Abubakar cited the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), investments in road infrastructure and increased allocations to state governments through the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC).
He acknowledged that the administration’s economic reforms had brought hardship to Nigerians but maintained that their long-term benefits deserved recognition.
Abubakar described his decision to support the President as a personal political conviction, acknowledging that his family background would naturally attract public attention.
He, however, maintained that every citizen has the right to make independent political choices, regardless of family affiliations.
Abubakar defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC on January 15, 2026, and subsequently announced the renaming of his political platform from the Haske Atiku Organisation to the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation.
His father, Atiku Abubakar, described the defection as a personal decision, saying he would not impose his political choices on his children.
The Atiku Haske Organisation later expelled Abba, maintaining that he was neither its founder nor had the authority to determine its political direction.
Atiku is the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 general election, placing father and son on opposing sides of the political contest.
