Dr Doro gave the assurance while receiving Kaduna State’s Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Comrade Yunana Markus Barde, and the Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Umar Auwal Bajimi, who paid him a courtesy visit at his Abuja office. He highlighted the Ministry’s ongoing reforms, including the newly launched National Poverty Lab, aimed at strengthening evidence-based policymaking and accelerating poverty reduction. He reiterated plans to work with states through the One Humanitarian, One Poverty Response System (OHOPRS) to deliver coordinated, people-centred interventions. The Minister commended Kaduna State’s consistent support for the Ministry’s flagship programmes and said he intended to visit the state to strengthen the partnership further. The Kaduna Commissioner congratulated Dr Doro on his daughter’s recent wedding, and appealed for federal support for the state’s local humanitarian councils and for greater interventions for persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. In a separate meeting, Dr Doro received a Niger State delegation led by the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Dr Ahmed Ibrahim Inga, alongside the Director-General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and senior ministry officials. Dr Inga commended the Ministry for fostering closer ties with state humanitarian institutions, describing the relationship as more robust than ever. He noted Niger State’s continuing humanitarian challenges and appealed for sustained federal support, recalling past interventions as impactful. Responding, Dr Doro reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to strengthen humanitarian response mechanisms and improve outcomes for vulnerable Nigerians through coordinated, people-centred action.
